Last week were teacher conferences for Chad and Annabel. Annabel’s was very brief – hello – she is 2. They said that Annabel is a little behind her classmates verbally. This is no surprise to me – for some reason my kids wait longer to talk than other kids but when they do talk they are better talkers. (In my opinion, of course.) They did say that Annabel is very helpful in class. She picks up her toys and then helps others pick theirs up as well. She is ahead of the game in the potty training arena. She can count to 10 and points at letters and says the names of letters – not the right ones of course but she knows those are letters and is saying the names of letters that she knows. She knows all of her colors.
Chad, on the other hand, was outstanding in all areas. His teachers say that he is a “keeper” and wish they could have him every year. In one section that did say that, “Chad loves to share during circle time.” I know what this means…”Chad talks during circle time and tries to make it Chad’s circle time.” They say he is ready for kindergarten and they will start working on sight words with them – which we have been doing for a year now so that should be easy as well.
All in all – kids are doing well are progressing.
