We started off with breakfast in our room (see review below) and then hit the water park right at 9am when it opened. By 11:30am both kids were ready for “quiet time” and both kids slept. Not long enough in my opinion but that is a different blog entitled, “Why my kids like to torture me by not taking 7 hour naps.” Anyway, after naps we had a snack and then hit the water park again for a while until Chad’s eyes started burning (see review below). In the morning session, we ventured to the outside area which was really my favorite and Annabel’s as well. It was not quite so noisy.
OK – So here is my list of do’s and don’t for Great Wolf Lodge:
1. They have a refrigerator and microwave in each room. Bring stuff for breakfast – in other words sausage that is pre-cooked and other breakfast items that can be cooked in your room. The breakfast places here are limited unless you want a muffin from Starbucks or a full on buffet.
2. There is a TON of chlorine in the pools here. If you are in the inside area it is so bad that it almost makes your eyes burn just being in the building. So, you really can not spend hours on end in the pools. Chad swims A LOT and his eyes started to burn.
3. The outside area is better – quieter. Less people. And, you can watch planes land which is pretty cool.
4. Bring snacks and drinks for your room – water, soda, juice boxes, milk boxes, etc. You could even do lunch in your room if you brought bread, lunchmeat and bags of chips. Or, if you brought a can opener you could do spaghettios, etc. Again, there is a refrigerator and microwave in each room.
5. Ask to stay on floor 2.
6. Yes, I will come back. It is a lot of fun and everyone is super nice.
7. I will never do this alone again. Not because it is too much work or because I needed help but because there were some things Chad could not do because he needed an adult with him and I could not leave Annabel. He is ready to do the big slides he just cant do them by himself due to his size. But, he was not too sad about it. A lady offered to watch Annabel for me while I went but of course, sweet little Annabel would not dream of it….
(Look at the kid twice Annabel’s size wearing floaties. People – teach your kids to swim!!!)
