We spent Easter at our house this year. Normally we are in Ponder but since Mom recently had shoulder surgery she was not up to having the usual gathering at her house.
It was actually really, really nice to be home! We got to do things with friends we normally do not get to do because we are always out of town. And, it was nice to go to church at our regular church. Both kids sat in church with us and were great – no issues at all. (Normally they are in Sunday school while we are in church)
Good Friday started off with a Crawfish Boil at friends house. It was the first crawfish I have had of the season and it was delicious!!!
Then, Saturday, Chad and I ran in the Muddy Trails Race again this year. Chad did great! Last year, he asked to walk a couple of times. This year, he ran the entire mile and even sprinted towards the finish line. He is much faster than me at this point!
Then, Saturday night, we were invited to an Easter Egg Hunt at Chad’s football Coach’s house. The whole family went to that and it was a blast!
Then, Easter morning arrived. As usual, Ma (the Easter bunny) brought great Easter baskets that the kids loved! And, I did not have to do one single bit of shopping for the kids’ Easter garb. Uncle John did all the Easter shopping in NYC and sent care packages to the kids! It was amazing!
