Happy Birthday Poppie!

We spent the weekend in Witchita, Kansas helping my Dad (Chad's Poppie) celebrate his 65th birthday. We flew out on Friday and got back today. It was great to spend time with him and the family. My step mom Val arranged a nice party for him and I think he was very happy. We got to see them in July, we got to see them this month and then the best part is that we get to see them in another month for Chad's birthday party! We do not live close but we are making the best out of it and thankfully we get to see each other as much as we do.

Chad was a pretty good sport the entire trip considering the schedule was out of the window this weekend. Don't let the pictures fool you -- we actually did get some smiles this weekend. Chad has no problems with his ears on planes which is great. And, if the entire plane would let him crawl up and down the aisles it would be an easy plane ride. But, he sure likes to squirm!! And, he wants to see everything that is going on. But, at least he does not cry so we are thankful.

On the plane ride back to Houston, Chad did fall asleep...10 minutes before we landed.

Chad loved playing with the kids that were there this weekend. My step sister Abie has 3 children. Her middle child Meredeth loved babysitting Chad. She helped feed him last night, helped give him and bath and even reminded me that if Chad cried in the middle of the night to first knock on her Nana’s door and then her Nana would come and knock on her door and then she would come in and make sure Chad was OK and she could help. Had Chad been able to stay a little longer I am convinced that he would have been dressed up in her dolls clothes (girl doll) and possibly make up put on him.
